Summary
Week 1: June 24-28, 2024
Week 2: July 8-12, 2024 (Located in Coweta County McGuffey Park)
Week 3: July 15-19, 2024
Archery at Morgan Grove Nature Area: Participants will learn the shooting steps, including proper posture, stance, grip, hook, and string release. Then, we’ll go a few rounds at the targets and practice what we’ve learned.
Hiking at The Ridge Nature Area: Bring your backpack and learn all about the plants, animals, and fungi that make these diverse areas their home. Enjoy learning all you wanted to know about the outdoors and more!
Kayaking at Wildcat Woods Nature Area: We’ll cover the basics of paddling, review some safety protocols, and then enjoy learning about all the natural sights and sounds that Wildcat Woods offers.
Fishing at Wildcat Woods Nature Area: Join us in a group fishing experience, learning the basics of fishing and what types of fish call the Piedmont home.
Tree Climbing at the Fayette Environmental Education Center: We teach participants rope-assisted tree climbing. We’ll review a few safety protocols and get a bird's eye view.
*All activities for week 2 in Coweta County will take place at McGuffy Park
